Bethesda Country Club’s year round junior tennis program is for BCC juniors, ages 4-17 years old.  Juniors use our eight outdoor courts during the spring, summer, and early fall and then our five indoor courts during the late fall and winter seasons.  We have seven full time teaching pros that strive to produce an environment where juniors of all levels feel comfortable in participating in private lessons, clinics, and team practices and matches.
A primary goal of the tennis staff at BCC is to create a junior team tennis culture that emphasizes proper tennis technique and etiquette while at the same time being  warm and inclusive.  BCC embraces the USTA “Youth Tennis” initiative that emphasizes shorter rackets and courts with softer balls for juniors under 10.   
All tennis programs are restricted to Tennis and Charter members with the exception of Winter Clinics (Social members and guests are accepted on a space as available basis), private lessons (Social members and guests are accepted at restricted times), and summer Tiger Cub Tennis (Social members are welcome to participate in this program).

Fall

Indoor after school programs for ages 4-17

Junior Tennis Clinics for beginners up to high school varsity players, 4-6pm weekdays. Juniors may attend one, two, or three times a week depending on their level of interest and schedules. We offer five levels of classes to ensure that juniors are placed appropriately according to both age

Winter

Indoor after school programs for ages 4-17  

Junior Tennis Clinics for beginners up to high school varsity players, 4-6pm weekdays.  Juniors may attend one, two, or three times a week depending on their level of interest and schedules. We offer five levels of classes to ensure that juniors are placed appropriately according to both age and ability: Tiny Tots, Young Beginner, Low Intermediate, Intermediate/Advanced, and Junior Championship. Classes run from 45 minutes to two hours.

Spring

Weekend interclub matches

Any Tennis or Charter member’s children who can serve from the baseline are welcome to play in our interclub matches with area country clubs. For interclub matches, juniors are paired with partners and opponents at their own level.

Summer

Tiger Cub Tennis- weekday mornings from 9-9:40am for ages 5-9

A forty minute program for Charter, Tennis and Social members. Tiger Cub Tennis is designed for beginners to youth with limited tennis background. Properly sized rackets are provided for all participants. After the program the children are escorted to the swimming pool for Tiger Cub Swimming which lasts until 11:30. (All members)

Weekday Junior Tennis Team practice for ages 8-17

For 10 weeks each summer, Monday through Friday, BCC offers junior tennis team practice for children of our Charter and Tennis members. This professionally supervised practice is for any junior who is able to serve from the baseline. (Charter and Tennis members). Each day after practice we have matches and intra club play from 1-3pm rain or shine.

Weekly Junior Teampizza parties and round robin playthroughout the summer season

Following junior team practice on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridaywe have pizza parties for our team tennis participants down at the tennis center. On these days after team practicethere are scheduled interclub matches and/or supervised round robins at the club.

Weekly Interclub Matches

Any Tennis or Charter member’s children who can serve from the baseline are welcome to participate in our weekly interclub matches with area country clubs. All available junior team members play in each interclub match. In the interclub matches, juniors are paired with partners and opponents at their own level.

Junior Club Championships/Pizza Party and Awards Ceremony

Our junior club championships is a one day round robin tournament. The day is capped off with a Pizza Party and Awards Ceremony for BCC players.
